October 8, 2026: Song Builder, crews, and a smoother Mixtape
Next level song arrangement, new crew feature, and public Vibes are easier to browse and share.
## Features
- Arrange by section in Song Builder. The default song panel now has a tab for the whole song and one for each section. Change the underlined parts of a sentence, explore chord suggestions, and audition classic progressions. Section chords stay visible when the playhead moves elsewhere.
- Keep a crew together. Up to four DJs can stay in a crew while moving between the Hub, studios, and shared published performances. Leaders choose the destination, with a travel preview and options to cancel or stay behind. Starting or joining a crew requires an account and DJ profile.
- Roll the tape when publishing. Add a title, liner notes, and musical tags on the cassette, then watch it roll into a shareable tape. The reveal waits for publication to be confirmed; Copy link or the mobile Share action follows.
- Choose MIDI lane sounds more easily. Each imported lane has a searchable sound picker with family filters and previews. General MIDI suggestions now use the full existing catalog, so a piano part can start on Grand Piano and a bass part on a bass sound.
## Improvements
- Dig through the Mixtape on a phone. The compact cassette crate has Trending, Fresh, and Most Loved shelves, direct listen and Notes actions, and a return to your browsing position. The mobile Hub also supports finger panning, pinch zoom, and room sheets.
- Find consistent Look controls. Board appearance controls now sit together in the editor and published listeners, with refinements to board materials and music-reactive visuals.
- Get to playing sooner. Keyboard onboarding is shorter, Song Builder has its own guided steps, and tutorial targets and mixer guidance are clearer.
- Read the Survivor stage more clearly. Enemy arrival warnings give encounters room to announce themselves. Bass Drop adds a crowd-clearing consumable, and compact upgrade and results screens give phone controls more room. Escape pauses; leaving or restarting during a run uses a hold.
## Fixes
- Share a studio without an account. Invite → Join Now immediately offers the session link, QR, and email sharing. It no longer depends on creating an account-linked invitation. Crew invitations and ongoing collaboration keep their account requirements.
- Keep your tutorial completion after signup. Fixed an account-conversion error that could leave completed tutorial progress behind. Returning onboarded accounts are also routed back into the Hub.
- See Vox lyrics on published listens. Fixed a layout issue that could leave the lyric panel empty after the listening room connected.
- Export sampled instruments. Corrected WAV and stem export validation for supported sampled catalog sounds, including Grand Piano and drum kits.
- Keep timing through edits and recovery. Tempo edits preserve the remaining loop's routing. Synced LFOs and delays use the song's tempo in exports, and Chromium echo repeats compensate for the browser's feedback-loop delay. Audio quality returns in smaller checked steps after overload.
